If you struggle with colour with what to choose or what to use where, or maybe on a plateau and need to move forward.
This class provides the answers.

The aim of this 6 hour project is to gain a heightened understanding of colour through a set of comprehensive and challenging exercises dealing with the use of colour in history, art, architecture, fashion and textile resulting in the creation of an individual and personal colour reference system applicable to textile works and contemporary quilting.

Workshop & Colour Talk

Includes:

Colour theory, the symbolic meaning of colours, identification of colour base sources, likes/dislikes, period/ethnic colours and defining life times through colour.

Different effects of light and colour through nature in the Australian landscape. What is a grey scale? How to use it.

Understanding intensity, the colour wheel, contrast and harmony. Your personal relationship to colour: associations and emotional response. Creating illusion with colour and textile analyses. Quilt and Textile art evaluation and critique.

1 Day, Six Hours, 20 Participants, Suitable for All Levels Beginner to Advanced

Each student is supplied with a comprehensive kit of textiles, worksheets and formulas to complete all exercises. Creating your own individual, personal colour reference system to take home.

Jan Frazer will also analyse several award-winning quilt masterpieces.
2 Hour Textile Presentation and Colour Talk - Reece Scannell.

This informative presentation is a Highlighted version of the colour workshop where groups will be introduced to the unique range of textiles and artworks made from them. A limited range of textiles and kits will be available for purchase on the day.
